Love was indeed in the air and classical music was on the menu Saturday at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach.

It was a night of big songs and bright stars as the Seal Beach Symphony presented its annual “Love Songs” Valentine’s Day event.

Since the pandemic pause, the local classic music event has come roaring back, this year in spectacular fashion. Two Grammy® winners, a two-time Grammy® nominee, and several local classical musicians were on stage to perform for a packed house.

After the success of our first ever golf tournament last week. The Seal Beach Symphony facilitated the shipment of eight hundred hoodies and twelve hundred blankets to the homeless shelter Isaiah House in Santa Ana. This was by far our largest shipment yet. The order was enough to fill the two-car garage and just in time as the weather began to turn cold. Since October of 2018, the Southern California Blanket Project has now shipped over ten thousand units at the costs of $92,000. To donate to this project or learn more about our philanthropy.  Please visit our website at SealBeachSymphony.com Thank you to all the kind souls in our community that have supported this worthy cause.

Halloween morning the Seal Beach Symphony hosted a charity golf tournament benefitting the Symphony as well as Veterans of Foreign Wars. On a crisp fall morning, fifty golfers gathered at Old Ranch Country Club to participate in the first of its kind annual event.

The Country Club set up the registration with breakfast burritos and coffee to sustain all the golfers while they played their round. Swag bags filled with cd’s, golf balls, symphony hats, water bottles and portable chargers were handed out upon arrival.

People were filing into a fenced off section of Eisenhower Park as the Sunday, Sept. 18, “Patriots in the Park” concert began. Seal Beach Lions served as ushers, helping guests find their seats.

The performance was the culmination of planning that began in October 2021.

“From what I could see from the stage it was a capacity crowd of standing room only in the back as well as those out on Ocean [Boulevard] and its surrounding neighbors who took up a collection for the Symphony after the production,” wrote Chad Berlinghieri, artistic director of the Seal Beach Symphony in an email.

Artistic Director Chad Berlinghieri said that they have been working with the city on the project since October 2021. Organizers are very excited to have been able to move this event forward. As a nonprofit entity with an educational designation, we have implemented the promo code Student to save 50%. Please be prepared to show a student ID at the door.

On Sept. 18,  a very special event will take place in Seal Beach.  The Seal Beach Symphony will present its first major performance titled “Patriots in the Park.”
